Both these methods used to work earlier but as of now, these two methods are no more effective. So as a reference still we have kept both methods explaining the procedures on how to change mobile number in Aadhar Card. Below we have explained the currently working method which is updating the mobile number by visiting the Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

Update Mobile Number in Aadhar through an Online Process [Not Working]

  • Open your favorite web browser and visit Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/update 
  • To log in with Aadhaar, enter your 12 digit Aadhaar Number, complete the text verification by entering the same text displayed in the image and click on send OTP.
  • You will receive OTP (One Time Password) on your existing registered mobile number, enter the same OTP received on your mobile number in the enter OTP field and click on the login button.

      • Once you are logged in you will get the option to select fields to update like Name, Gender, DOB, Address, mobile number, and email id. So to update or change your mobile number just select the mobile number and click on the submit button.

          • On the next page, you will have to enter the new mobile number which you want to update and click on the submit request update.

            • On next screen you will get a review update to once again check or confirm the mobile number entered, if everything is correct than accept “I confirm that I have read the instructions carefully and the information provided by me to the UIDAI and the information contained here is true, correct and accurate” and click on proceed button. 
            • Note down the URN or you can even take a print out to track update mobile number in Aadhar Request Update Status it in the future.

            Update Mobile Number in Aadhar through Post [Not Working]

            • To update the mobile number in Aadhar through post download the Aadhaar Data Update/ Correction Form by clicking here
            • Take a print out of the Aadhaar Data Update/ Correction Form and start filling up the form. From the first field for update/correction select mobile as you want to update mobile number. 
            • Fill all the details in block letters and make sure the local language gets correctly translated. Enter your new mobile number which you want to register with Aadhaar Card.             Update Mobile Number in Aadhar by visiting Aadhaar Seva Kendra [Working Method]

            • To update your mobile number in Aadhar you will need to visit Aadhar Seva Kendra in your location with your existing Aadhaar Number or Aadhaar Card.
            • To update mobile there is no requirement of any documents, in case if you want to update any other details like address, name, etc along with mobile number then there will need to produce documents.
            • Visit the Seva Kendra, request the operator or verifier that you need to update your mobile number in your Aadhaar.
            • The Seva Kendra will provide you the Aadhaar Update Form which you will have to fill it carefully.
            • Make sure you mention the mobile number in the application form which you want to update and hand over the update application form.
            • The operator will take your request for mobile number updation with your Aadhaar.
            • And for authentication, your fingerprints or iris will be captured followed by facial photographs.
            • You will be handed over with Aadhaar Update Receipt which you will have to maintain with you carefully.
            • Your mobile number will be updated in your Aadhaar upon verification and approval by the UIDAI verification team and this process could take up to 1 day to 3 months.
