Updating your details in Aadhaar

You will be pleased to know that the Aadhaar family now has over 89 crore Aadhaar holders!

Your Aadhaar is an effective tool to access various services offered by government (and private) agencies from time to time. It is important that you regularly update the information on Aadhaar.

Updating your details in Aadhaar

If you have moved to a new address; or, your child has recently turned 5 years (or 15 years) of age; or, your email ID or phone number has changed from the one mentioned in your Aadhaar; or, you wish to add your mobile number and/ or email ID - then you should "Update" the information in the Aadhaar database.
  
You can follow any of these three simple ways to update information in Aadhaar database:

  • Online Self-Service Portal (for updating demographic information)

    If your mobile is registered in Aadhaar, you can visit the https://resident.uidai.net.in, and follow the instructions for updating address (or change of name following marriage etc.).
  • Permanent Enrolment Centers (for updating Demographics / Biometrics / Photograph)

    Visit a nearby Permanent Enrolment Centre (PEC) along with copies of relevant documents such as Identity/ Address proof. You can also update your photograph and biometrics. A list of PECs is available at https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/easearch.aspx
  • By Post

    Send an Aadhaar Data Update/ Correction form by Post. You can download the form at http://uidai.gov.in/images/application_form_11102012.pdf. A list of documents to be attached is available at https://resident.uidai.net.in/update-data. Duly completed form along with relevant documents may be sent to Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) at either of the two addresses given below:

    Post Box No. 10, Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, 480001 (India)

    Or

    Post Box No. 99, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, 500034 (India)

Aadhaar Card Enrollment Rejected?
