However through Online mode, only address update or correction requests for Aadhaar can be submitted, and for rest all corrections or updates like name, date of birth, gender, etc. you will need to submit the update request through Aadhaar Enrollment Centers.

UIDAI Website offers to submit online update/ correction requests for Aadhaar Address. So if you have any address correction or update to be made in your Aadhaar then you can use this online mode.

But to update Aadhaar Card data online, there are some requirements that you need to fulfill, and below are the requirements mentioned which are needed to update Aadhaar Card Data Online.

Requirements to Update Aadhaar Card Data Online

  1. You should have a mobile number registered with your Aadhaar
  2. You should have address proof documents

  • Certificate of Address having photo issued by MP or MLA or Gazetted Officer or Tehsildar on letterhead
  • Certificate of Address issued by Village Panchayat head or its equivalent authority (for rural areas)
  • Income Tax Assessment Order
  • Vehicle Registration Certificate
  • Registered Sale / Lease / Rent Agreement
  • Address Card having Photo issued by Department of Posts
  • Caste and Domicile Certificate having Photo issued by State Govt.
  • Disability ID Card/handicapped medical certificate issued by the respective State/UT Governments/Administrations
  • Gas Connection Bill (not older than 3 months)
  • Passport of Spouse
  • Passport of Parents(in case of Minor)
  • Allotment letter of accommodation issued by Central/State Govt. of not more than three years old
  • Marriage Certificate issued by the Govt, containing the address
From the above documents, keep any one of the document ready in which your address is clearly mentioned with your name. You will need to scan the document and store it on your PC in jpg, pdf, tiff, jpeg, or png file format and the size of the file should not exceed 2MB. The scanned document must be self-attested.

Process to Update Aadhaar Card Data Online

  • Visit Official UIDAI Website by following this link https://uidai.gov.in/

  • On UIDAI Website you will find an option update your address online under update Aadhaar category.
Update your Address Online
  • On next screen just select proceed to update address.
Login Aadhaar
  • Next Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number or 16 digit Virtual ID to begin.
  • Complete the Captcha Verification
  • And click on send otp or enter a TOTP
  • If you want to receive the OTP on your registered mobile number then click on send otp button or if you have mAadhaar App Installed and if you can generate the TOTP in the app then use the option TOTP. This selection depends on your personal preference.
  • Enter OTP/TOTP, A 6 digit / 8 digit One-Time Password will be sent to your registered number. 
  • Once entering the OTP or TOTP just click on login button.
Update Address
  • From next screen Please select how you would like to update address, to proceed just select option update Aadhaar via Address Proof.
Enter Update Address
  • On next screen you will need to enter the details to update in the form below.
Submit Update Address
  • Once entering it, just use preview button and your entered address will be pereviewed on next screen.
  • To submit the update request just tick mark on i hereby confirm that i have read the instructions carefully and the information provided by me to the UIDAI is true and correct.
  • And click on submit button.
  • Next you will need to upload the document which was have scanned and kept on your pc.
  • Just select the document from the list which you are uploading and upload the document.
  • Once upload is done, just click on submit button.
  • Your Aadhaar Update Receipt Number will be generated and you will also receive the same on your registered phone via SMS.
  • Now you will have to wait for 2 - 3 weeks for your update request approval, and once approval is made your details will get reflected in your Aadhaar Card.
  • You will also receive update Aadhaar Card via India Post.

  1. I have lost my adhar card enrolment slip. However, I know the number and date of registration.But I have forgotton the time of registration which is mandatory for download. Even I send email to help desk twice but no reply since 10 days. Request intimate how can I download my Adhar card?
